美國貨運業繁忙 9月同比增8.2%
美國2018年貨運量遠較三年前大幅攀升，用來整體貨運量的Cass Freight Index9月同比上漲8.2%。（Cass資訊系統公司）
【大紀元2018年10月20日訊】（大紀元記者張東光編譯報導）用來衡量北美貨運量的卡斯貨物運輸指數（Cass Freight Index）9月同比增長8.2%，雖略遜於年初的雙數位增長，但依舊顯示美國經濟貨品流通繁忙。該指數涵蓋了卡車、鐵道、航空和船運等各類貨運量，運輸的貨品包括消費用品和穀物、化學品等工業用大宗商品。
該指數在今年1月同比增幅曾高達12.5%，上半年大多數時間維持在增長10%之上，8月一度降到約增長6%。但在2015－2016年期間，該指數呈現衰退現象，直到2017年初川普就任後才轉為正向的增長，2017年底和今年初開始呈現雙數位增長。
造成卡斯貨物運輸指數今年下半年由雙數位增長降為個位數增長的主因並非經濟轉差，而是運輸產能受限，導致貨運量增長動能受阻。例如，根據美國鐵道協會（AAR）統計，9月美國鐵道運輸量僅增長2.6%，但集裝箱和連結卡車的運量卻增長6.2%。
船運方面則出現爆炸性增長，9月運量同比增長19.3%，創下2012年1月以來最高增幅，也是連續第12個月呈現雙數位增長。業界原本在年初預期這種顯著的雙數位增幅難以長期維持，但由於需求依舊強勁，導致貨量持續攀高，正呈現過去少見的貨運運能不足的窘況。
在運價方面，用來衡量公路貨運成本的運價指數－－Cass Truckload Linehaul Index也在9月同比漲價9.8%，創下2005年以來最高增幅。另外，包含燃油附加費的運價指數Cass Intermodal Price Index也同比上漲10.1%，為連續第24個月同比增長。
在燃料成本上，根據美國能源情報署（EIA）資料，平均柴油價格9月漲到3.39美元/加侖，同比增長22%，這部分已約略反映在包含燃油附加費的運價指數上。
為了應付不斷攀高的貨運需求，卡車運輸公司已在年初訂購了創紀錄大量的class-8卡車。＃
